The Reel Review
This low budget Australian shark thriller is loosely based on a 1983 true story, about a group of friends whose boat is damaged and capsizes while sailing through a coral reef to Indonesia. With their boat doomed to soon sink, they begin a daunting 12 mile swim to the nearest island. During their journey, they are terrorized by a Great White Shark. What makes this harrowing nail-biter so effective is its straightforward script, use of actual shark footage over over-the-top special effects, solid acting by its cast and a never-ending sense of terror and dread that continues up to its final minutes.
