Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be returning to ABC on Tuesday night.

In a statement released Monday, Disney said after indefinitely suspending the show following Kimmel’s comments about recently killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk and President Trump, and having “thoughtful conversations” with Kimmel, it has decided to lift its suspension. Kimmel reportedly will address the matter during Tuesday’s show.

Sinclair says it will preempt on its 38 ABC stations with Nexstar saying it will preempt Kimmel on its 32 ABC, which combined make up a quarter of ABC’s nationwide market.

The show was suspended after Nexstar Media Group, which is awaiting FCC approval of its planned rule-breaking acquisition of the Tegna media conglomerate, and far-right Sinclair Broadcast Group, which between them own about 400 TV stations across the U.S., announced they would not be airing the show. Since the announcement, and word that President Trump likely had a hand in the censorship, there has been a growing call by the public and free speech advocates to boycott all things Disney – ABC, the streaming channels Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+, the Disney theme parks and cruises, as well as a boycott of the two media conglomerates and their advertisers.

Since the boycott began, Disney’s value has reportedly dropped somewhere between $1.5 and $4 billion.

The boycott came just weeks after CBS announced the cancellation next year of top-rated Late Night with Stephen Colbert, another frequent Trump critic, just days before the Trump administration’s FCC approved Skydance’s $8.4 billion acquisition of Paramount CBS.
