The Sex and the City foursome is about to be restored, at least for a hot minute, after Kim Cattrall agreed to reprise her role of Samantha Jones briefly in the season two finale of HBO’s Sex and the City series revival, And Just Like That.

Sources tell Variety that Cattrall shot her one scene on March 22 in New York City, without seeing or speaking with the stars of the series. It will air in August.

Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis in Sex and the City, which ran for six seasons from 1998-2004 and spawned two films.

The return of the extremely popular Samantha will thrill hardcore fans of the series, since Cattrall publicly announced in 2016 that she was done playing Samantha after claiming the script for a proposed third film didn’t do justice to the character. The decision led to a very public fallout between show star Sarah Jessica Parker and Cattrall, who was not approached to participate in the 2021 series spin-off.

Cattrall is currently starring in the film About My Father with Robert De Niro and will portray a make-up mogul in the Netflix drama Glamorous, which premieres June 22, the same date that season two of And Just Like That premieres.
