Well, it looks like a merciful (and hopefully definitive) end finally is in sight for the Jamie Lee Curtis-led, Halloween horror film franchise. After last year’s majorly disappointing Halloween Kills, producers swear this IS the finale to the long running saga, which began with the iconic, 1978 slasher.

The story picks up four years after the last film, with Andi Matichak and Kyle Richards reprising their respective roles as Laurie Strode’s granddaughter Allyson and as Lindsay, whom Laurie was babysitting that fateful night back in 1978. Will Patton also is back as Deputy Frank Hawkins.

In interviews, Curtis has said the ending to Halloween Ends will anger but intrigue a lot of fans, calling it a fantastic way to end this more recent trilogy which began with the back-to-basics 2018 sequel, which itself ignored the whopping ten the sequels before it. We shall see.

Halloween Ends hits theaters (and the Peacock streaming service) on October 14th.
