The Power of the Dog, director Jane Campion’s neo-Western set in 1925 Montana, leads the field of nominations for the 2022 Oscars, with 12 nominations. Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi blockbuster Dune was close behind during Tuesday’s announcement, with 10 nominations. The biggest change in this year’s voting process is that the Academy offered 10 ranked choices for Best Picture, guaranteeing 10 films in the running for the night’s biggest prize.
