Nicole Kidman is teaming up with director Susanne Bier (Bird Box, The Night Manager) and writer David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) in the upcoming HBO psychological thriller, The Undoing. The seven episode series is based on the 2014 New York Times bestselling novel “You Should Have Known” by Jean Hanff Korelitz.

Nicole Kidman and Noah Jupe play mother and son in HBO’s The Undoing.

In The Undoing, Kidman plays a successful New York City therapist whose seemingly perfect life is shattered when her devoted husband (Hugh Grant), himself a successful doctor, goes missing just before her book is published. A series of terrible revelations threatens her way of life and forces her to make some drastic changes for her child and herself.

The series also stars Donald Sutherland, Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place, Ford v Ferrari), Ismael Cruz Cordova (Mary Queen of Scots) and Lily Rabe (American Horror Story).

The Undoing premieres on HBO on May 10th.
