Discovery’s ‘Shark Week’ with Rob Riggle: Eat. Prey. Chum.
Rob Riggle is back for the Discovery Channel’s wildly-popular, annual ‘Shark Week’ in Shark Trip: Eat. Prey. Chum.
Riggle (The Hangover, 21 Jump Street) will be joined on the show by Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl), Joel McHale (Santa Clarita Diet), Anthony Anderson (Black-ish) and Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect), which will be part of the channel’s shark-themed extravaganza from July 28 through August 4.
“It’s going to be an epic ‘Shark Week’ with some of my best buddies.” -Rob Riggle
In addition, Riggle will also host “Shark Week’s” late-night talk show Shark After Dark.
For last year’s ‘Shark Week,’ Riggle, a retired Marine, trained Shaquille O’Neal for a shark dive in the Bahamas. Shaq Does Shark Week, produced by Will Packer (who made Tiffany Haddish a star in Girls Trip), was the week’s most-watched cable telecast among adults 25-54.
‘Shark Week’ has been part of the Discovery Channel’s lineup for more than 30 years. Focusing on innovative shark research technology, this year’s edition will feature more than 20 hours of programming, testing new shark detecting technology, providing insight on some of the world’s most unique shark species and employ the first ‘drone-towed’ seal decoy. Sounds tasty.
Shark Trip: Eat. Prey. Chum is executive produced by Will Packer Media’s Will Packer and Kelly Smith, Anomaly’s Matthew Kelly and Michael Sorenson, Hazmat’s Paul Matusheski and Benjamin Haslup and Discovery Channel’s Nancy Daniels, Howard Swartz and Joseph Schneider.
