Chris Evans has hung up his shield, announcing via Twitter Thursday that he is through playing the role of Marvel Universe’s Captain America:

Avengers 4 is slated for release next year. The 37-year-old Evans is next scheduled to start shooting The Devil All The Time, a horror/thriller co-starring fellow Avengers: Infinity War castmate Tom Holland (Spiderman).
