The Reel Review
When a New Zealand journalist stumbles across a fetish website that features tickling videos, he decides to make what presumably will be a funny, quirky documentary. Instead, he inadvertently awakens a vicious internet bully and a bizarre story of threats, harassment and public humiliation. Despite the documentary’s amateurish feel, it is a surreal and stomach-churning trip into the darker recesses of the internet. HBO is currently airing this film and the jaw-dropping, 20-minute follow-up, “The Tickle King,” which includes a circus-like confrontation at the Sundance Film Festival by the accused internet bully featured in the documentary.
