The Reel Review

C

If you liked the first two shoot-em-up Purge films, then you also will likely also enjoy this politically exploitive election year variation of the ludicrous futuristic theme, where killing becomes legal for a night each year.

The pros? Some of the Burning Man-inspired get-ups of “the purgers” are surprisingly creative – sort of like an avant-garde fashion show where the models are murdered, and there are moments where the orgy of violence WILL get your heart racing.

The cons? Those moments fizzle out fast in the last act of this ultimately tedious and very predictable film.
