The Reel Review
When their small, chartered plane crashes in a remote stretch of the Rocky Mountains, two strangers must summon personal courage to battle overwhelming odds against their survival.
This adaptation of the 2011 novel by Charles Martin plays out like a ridiculous mash-up of the 1993 plane crash drama Alive and The Bridges of Madison County, but with an increasingly implausible adventure story that devolves into an even more ridiculous love story in the final act.
Kate Winslet and Idris Elba put forth a valiant effort, despite having zero onscreen chemistry. At least the outdoor scenery is nice.
