In this South Korean horror/mystery, a family coping with the disappearance of their young son moves to a house near Busan’s Mt. Jang, site of the popular Jangsan Tiger urban legend, where a fast-moving, man-eating creature is said to use human voices to lure his victims. There, they find a young girl in the forest, who mimics their voices, in what may be one of the most obvious, we-see-where-this-is-going plots ever.  After a slow, bizarrely unexplained and disjointed first half, the film finally picks up, with the usual jump scares and creepy moments (some creatively done, others just laughably silly). Director Huh Jung (Hide and Seek) creates a nice sense of dread reminiscent of the Japanese horror films Ju-On and Ringu (which inspired their American remakes The Grudge and The Ring) but, sadly, this story sputters out by the predictable, unsatisfying ending.
