The Reel Review
A really cute, thoughtful story loaded with lots of funny one-liners, a solid voice-over cast, an annoyingly cute theme song and dazzling animation sounds like a surefire winner – and while this first-ever Lego-themed movie has many moments of brilliance (Uni-kitty was a personal fave), an inconsistent screenplay drifts off course a little too often to make this good film great – at one point I actually nodded off for a few minutes. Here’s hoping the all-but-guaranteed sequel is a bit more… “awesome.”
