The Reel Review

A

This remake of the Rudyard Kipling classic is the best combination of live action and CGI that I have ever seen in a film. The leveI of detail and realism in the CGI animals is astounding. That, combined with stunning visuals, a score reminiscent of Out Of Africa and a story more faithful to the novel than Disney’s 1967 animated classic, makes this film quite a stunning achievement. The only negatives – a couple of lulls in the story and a Mowgli that seems lost amid the splendor – are minor nitpicks considering the technical flawlessness of Jon Favreau’s delightful remake. This absolutely is a film to see in 3D.
