The Reel Review
Nia Vardalos’ first film was a cute, corny story about her loud, quirky, smothering Greek family. It scored her an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay and made box office history as the highest grossing romantic comedy of all time. That said, expectations for this sequel were for more of the same, and it certainly starts off that way, only in much smaller, more disappointing portions, but by the end, like her crazy family, this sequel comes together and turns out to be a decently pleasant, predictable good time.
