This movie starring debut from The Bianca Del Rio (aka Roy Haylock), season 6 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is about a high school teacher whose drag alter ego exacts revenge on a small town in Texas after he’s fired for being gay. (Trust me, despite all the progress in same-sex marriage, THIS still happens today in America.) Also starring SNL alum Rachel Dratch and filmed on a crowd-sourced, shoestring budget, the film starts slower than a drugged turtle, but once it gets going, it has enough belly laughs (that hysterical creationism/cat joke is STILL a crack up!), sweet moments and delightful appearances from celebrities and Drag Race alums to make fans of Bianca and the Logo TV series squeal like kids at Christmas. For a low budget, freshmen effort, this campy comedy is really cute, and will keep Bianca’s career continuing on its upward trajectory. Hollywood, are you listening?!?!
