The Reel Review
An entertaining glimpse inside the creation of the legendary director’s biggest hit film, “Psycho.” Anthony Hopkins is perfect as Alfred, but it is the rest of the cast – Scarlett Johansson, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, and ESPECIALLY Helen Mirran (as his talented but underrecognized wife/writer, Alma) that gives this movie pizazz. Despite a few slow moments in the middle (more Psycho and less Alfred/Alma marital strife would have been nice), it is still an extremely fun, quirky film that Hitchcock himself would have enjoyed.
