The Reel Review

B-

Jason Bateman reunites with the writer/director duo behind 2011’s Horrible Bosses in this comedy about friends whose murder mystery game night turns into a wacky, real life kidnapping. The story is ridiculously bonkers and some of the jokes are eye-rollingly corny, but there are enough genuine belly laughs and clever moments to make it worth the hour and 40 minutes. Rachel McAdams shines as Bateman’s unknowingly badass, gun toting wife but it is Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad) who is awesome as their socially-awkward, always in uniform, cop neighbor who oh so desperately and hilariously wants to be part of the fun. Stay for the credits.
