The Reel Review
I didn’t think it would be possible, but the third installment in the young adult sci-fi Divergent series is even worse than the last, with an even flimsier plot, the same sad stunt casting (Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer and now Jeff Daniels), and the same pretty people running around shooting at each other as they utter inane dialogue. It’s particularly disappointing given the cleverness of the first Divergent film, about a futuristic world where people are segregated based on personality traits. These guys should have quit while they were ahead. The last sequel was a C-, this snoozefest is a D.
