The Reel Review
This low budget, straight-to-DVD sequel to the popular 2007 nocturnal Alaskan vampire thriller has survivor Sheriff Stella lecturing about her nightmarish experiences to skeptics and non-believers around the country when she comes across a crew of vampire hunters in downtown LA. While the film lacks the intriguing story, creepy setting and chilling effects of the original (let’s face it, northern Alaska at night is way spookier than LA) it’s not as awful as you might expect, especially if you just want to see vampires get killed. Kiele Sanchez (A Perfect Getaway, Purge: Anarchy) packs quite a punch as our vampire-hunting heroine and the vampires themselves are just as horrifying as in the original. Unfortunately, the weak, meandering story wanders off to stupid town by the finale.
