Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are reuniting on the big screen, 22 years after their mother/daughter characters Tess and Anna accidentally got switched into each other’s bodies in the 2003 fantasy/comedy Freaky Friday. This time, however, the fun gets even freakier, when a new switch up also includes Anna’s daughter and soon-to-be-stepdaughter.

Among the cast reprising their roles from the prior film are Mark Harmon and Chad Michael Murray as the respective mother/daughter love interests,  Christina Vidal and Haley Hudson as Anna’s two bandmember besties and Rosalind Chao as Pei-Pei, the Chinese restaurant owner who helped the two with their prior body switch. Cast additions Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Sophia Hammons (Under Wraps) play Anna’s respective daughter and soon-to-be-stepdaughter.

Freakier Friday is scheduled to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.
