Ted Lasso is returning to the pitch. Nearly two years after the Emmy award winning AppleTV+ series concluded, star Jason Sudeikis has closed a deal to reprise his role as the title character, manager of the fictional AFC Richmond soccer club in London.

There are few details yet about the story for Season 4, but Sudeikis offered a hint recently, saying “As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to look before we leap, in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.” At the end of Season 3, Ted chose to return to the United States to be closer with his son and ex-wife, with other team members moving onto new phases in their lives.

Season 3 is AppleTV+’s most watched show to date, and finished 2023 as the #1 original streaming series in the U.S.
