Two time Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Tom Wilkinson has died at the age of 75 with his wife and family by his side.

His family announced his death Saturday, not disclosing the cause of death but saying he died suddenly.

Born in Leeds and after training at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Wilkinson had a decades-long acting career, appearing in such films as The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Sense and Sensibility, in addition to his Oscar-nominated performances in 2007’s Michael Clayton and 2001’s In the Bedroom. Wilkinson won his BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor in 1997’s The Full Monty.

Wilkinson is survived by his wife, actress Diana Hardcastle, and daughters Alice and Molly.
