Henry Cavill is not done being Superman.

Henry Cavill’s Instagram post Monday revealing that he will be back as Superman

In an Instagram post Monday, Cavill announced he will be back as The Man of Steel, following a cameo appearance in the latest DC Comics movie, Black Adam, which opened in theaters this past weekend.

Cavill reportedly will reprise his role in a sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel. Since that blockbuster nine years ago, Cavill has only appeared in one DC Comics film, 2017’s Justice League, as well as the vastly-improved, repurposed 2021 version, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which included original, unused footage. Cavill has gone on to star in Mission: Impossible: Fallout and television series The Witcher.

While we await that potential sequel, and hope that it is as good as the original, there is still a good chance we will see Cavill’s Superman appear in at least some of next year’s DC films, about the characters Shazam, The Flash, Aquaman and Blue Beetle.
