Actress Kelly Preston Dies at 57 from Breast Cancer
Actress Kelly Preston, wife of John Travolta, died Sunday in Houston of complications from breast cancer.
A family spokesman said Preston had decided to keep her battle private since being diagnosed two years ago.
Travolta posted a tribute to his wife on Instagram:
Among Preston‘s notable performances were the 1988 comedy Twins with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito, 1996’s Jerry Maguire with Tom Cruise, and the 2003 comedy A View From the Top with Gwyneth Paltrow and Christina Applegate. Preston’s last film released prior to her death was 2018’s Gotti, with her husband, Travolta.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Preston started acting after graduating from the University of Southern California. She and Travolta, longtime Scientologists, were married for 28 years and had three children. The oldest, Jett, died at age 16 after a seizure while vacationing in the Bahamas with his family in 2009.
Preston’s last Instagram post was on June 21 with Travolta and their children Ella, 20, and Benjamin, 10, for Father’s Day.
