Golden Globe Nominations – The List! The Snubs!
Nominations have been announced for the 77th Golden Globes. In the film category, Marriage Story picked up a leading six nods, with Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood each getting five.
In the television category, it is HBO’s Chernobyl, Netflix’s The Crown and Unbelievable each getting four nominations.
The biggest snub, however, is HBO’s Game of Thrones, which was ignored for Best Drama Series in its final, heavily-criticized season. Also shut out in the Best Comedy Series category – the wildly popular Netflix shows Schitt’s Creek and Russian Doll, although Russian Doll‘s Natasha Lyonne did get nominated in the acting category.
Ricky Gervais will host the event on January 5th from the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
