Golden Globes – Highlights and The Winners
Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book were the big winners at the 76th annual Golden Globes Sunday night, picking up the awards for Best Picture in the Drama and Musical/Comedy categories, respectively.
Hosted by former Globe winners Andy Samberg (in 2014 for Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Sandra Oh (in 2006 for Grey’s Anatomy and again Sunday night for her TV series Killing Eve), the show’s highlights included a heartfelt tribute and speech by Carol Burnett for the newly-created lifetime achievement award in television named after her; a funny, albeit rambling speech by Jeff Bridges for the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award; hilarious award presentations by Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph (Oscar, these two should be YOUR hosts – are you listening?!); new names for Christian Bale and Peter Farrelly’s kids (Banana, Burrito, Bob and Apple ?♂️??♀️); and special purpose tissues for fans of This Is Us.
Below is the full list of nominees with winners in each category denoted with a ⭐️. Rather than get into the whole politics of who should win versus who will win, we here at The Reelness decided to keep it simple and just choose who we’d WANT to win if we were handing out the awards. At least in some cases, the HFPA got it right. (Clicking on highlighted film/TV series titles will take you to The Reelness review.)
