After a lackluster first episode, which was even more disappointing on the heels of her wildly biting, hilarious and controversial standup routine at the White House Correspondents Dinner, comedian Michelle Wolf HAS found her voice (and not just her literal, screechy, high pitched one) on her new weekly comedy show on Netflix, incorporating commentary pointedly critical of the Trump administration, the utter uselessness of both parties in Congress, and a 24-hour news media more interested in ratings than facts. She mixes her standup with an SNL-styled newscast and pre-produced skits, which keeps the pace of the 30 minute show moving along at a nice clip. Comparisons will undoubtedly be made between Wolf and Samantha Bee, the other woman with a weekly political comedy show. And while both are very good and feature similar comedy, Wolf’s rapid-fire delivery (and that voice) sets her apart.
