The Reel Review
The MTV crew best known for its decades of dangerous stunts and pranks is back at it again. Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Chris Pontius reunited with the rest of the crew in this docu-comedy that, just like 2022’s Jackass Forever, is again billed as their final film.

Even for fans of this type of sophomoric, fraternity house, gross-out humor, Jackass: Best and Last is just more of the same now-tired schtick. More than half of the film is a mixture of recycled and un-aired excerpts from prior shows and films. The current material, featuring the same scatological humor, humiliation and full-frontal male nudity, feels even more forced by comparison and is often more lame than funny. The film smacks of blatant cash grab.

There is something kind of sad seeing these now middle-aged men (and now, one woman – Rachel Wolfson – who, barely used, feels more like a token) engaging in this silliness. Wistful nostalgia aside, this last film is not the best.
