Ellen Page Comes Out as Transgender – New Name: Elliot

Ellen Page, the Oscar-nominated star of Juno, whose screen credits include Inception, Whip It, last year’s Tales of the City series and most recently the Netflix series Umbrella Academy, wrote a very candid Instagram post Tuesday, revealing that they are transgender and their name is now Elliot.
Page, who came out as queer in 2014, is calling on political leaders to fight harder to end discrimination and to fight harder against those who spew hostility towards the trans community, saying “enough is enough.”
Netflix recently renewed Umbrella Academy for a third season.The Umbrella Academy Instagram account’s response to the news: “So proud of our superhero!! WE LOVE YOU ELLIOT!!!”
